The Z-Series line of luge style sleds are Graf's premium racing sleds.
The Z-Series melds traditional materials and modern technology to create a racing sled that are considered by many to be the best natural track racing sled in the world. The Z-Series design was the result of a collaborative effort between Graf engineers and famous Swiss racer-designers.
Produced using proprietary techniques, these hand-built sleds are made from carefully-selected seasoned ash hardwood. The design allows the user to ride the sled in the sitting position. Steering is accomplished with the use of the inside of the lower leg and by shifting the weight of the rider. The Z-Series is used by the Swiss Natural Track Racing Team. Made in accordance with the International Luge Regulations for Natural Track Racing (IRO Natural Track).
The Z-series "Fun" model has a 25deg runner angle- a great choice for the all conditions. Runner angle is angle formed by the surface of the snow and the outside edge of the steel runner. The greater the angle, the greater the amount of cutting action the runner makes in the snow or ice. Racers prefer sleds with high runner angles for use on prepared or icy trails where controlled turns are required, and low runner angles on unprepared surfaces or on new snow where carving action is not needed. Includes adjustable beaded steer and pull rope.
